On the first Sunday of June, the congregation of Spring Church gathered once again for an outdoor worship service, taking their Sunday gathering beyond the walls of their usual meeting place. This time, members, families, friends, and guests met at Moraga Commons Park for a morning of worship, fellowship, and encouragement.
Outdoor services have become a meaningful tradition for Spring Church. For the congregation, they are more than simply a change of location—they are a reminder that the Church is not a building but the people of God, redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ and united as one Body under Christ, its Head. Whether gathering in a park, along the Pacific coast, or anywhere believers come together, God's people can worship Him wherever He leads.
The service featured congregational worship accompanied by guitar, corporate prayer, and a message focused on God's love and the hope found in Jesus Christ. The relaxed setting created a welcoming atmosphere, allowing park visitors to pause, listen to the worship music, ask questions, and get acquainted with members of the church.
Following the service, everyone stayed to enjoy coffee, refreshments, and conversation. Old friends caught up, new friendships were formed, and families spent time together. Moments like these beautifully reflected what the Church is meant to be—a community marked by genuine relationships, unity in Christ, and hearts open to God and to one another.
"When we worship outside the familiar walls of a church building, we are reminded even more clearly that God's presence is not limited to a physical place," said Pastor Alexey Kharlamov. "The Church is alive wherever people love Christ and love one another."
Spring Church plans to continue hosting outdoor worship gatherings throughout the year, inviting anyone who is interested to join them for worship, fellowship, and an opportunity to experience the warmth of the Christian community. Each gathering serves as a reminder that the Gospel is not meant to remain within church walls but is called to reach people wherever they are.
