On July 3, New Hope Church hosted its eighth annual Block Party in Rancho Cordova—an outreach event that has become a beloved tradition in the community. Year after year, this celebration brings together families, friends, and neighbors, creating an atmosphere of joy and fellowship while providing an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This year's, Block Party was the largest in the event's history, welcoming a record crowd of more than 500 guests. We are grateful to God for bringing so many families, children, teenagers, and adults together, creating opportunities for new friendships, meaningful conversations, and hearts to be touched by His love.
Guests enjoyed live Christian music, delicious food, games, and family-friendly activities. Most importantly, they experienced an atmosphere where God's presence was evident and where everyone had the opportunity to hear the message of the Gospel and learn about the hope found in Jesus Christ.
One of the most meaningful parts of the event was the Prayer Tent, where anyone could receive personal prayer. Church members prayed with both English- and Russian-speaking guests, listening carefully to their concerns, sharing in their burdens, and pointing them to God's love. For many visitors, this became the most memorable part of the evening, reminding them that God hears every prayer and cares deeply for every person.
The celebration was especially exciting for children. They enjoyed a full program of crafts, games, face painting, cotton candy, and a small petting zoo. The laughter of children, joyful smiles, and the excitement shared by families made it clear that the evening created lasting memories for many.
Many guests expressed their appreciation for the church's warm hospitality and the welcoming atmosphere that allowed families to spend quality time together. For some, it was their very first visit to a church. For others, it became another opportunity to hear God's invitation and take a step closer to Christ.
The outreach continued the very next day. On July 4, Independence Day, New Hope Church participated for the seventh consecutive year in the City of Rancho Cordova Independence Day Parade. Nearly 120 church members, including children and youth, marched behind a beautifully decorated float while live worship music filled the streets. The joy, unity, and love of Christ were evident throughout the parade, drawing the attention of countless spectators along the route.
Through both the Block Party and the city parade, church members had the opportunity to personally connect with hundreds of local residents and distribute more than 800 copies of Gospels, Bibles, and invitations to church. We trust that every copy of God's Word placed into someone's hands is a seed that the Lord will nurture in His perfect timing, producing lasting spiritual fruit.
We are deeply thankful to God for the privilege of being a light in our community, serving our neighbors, and sharing the love of Christ. May the Lord continue to bless Rancho Cordova, and may many more people come to find hope, salvation, and new life in Jesus Christ through ministries like these.
