On July 3, Cornerstone Church hosted a special outdoor celebration in honor of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States. Church members, neighbors, and guests gathered for an evening of fellowship, gratitude, and reflection on the true meaning of freedom.
Throughout the event, participants were reminded that Independence Day is more than a historic milestone—it is an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of living in a free country while reflecting on the deeper freedom He offers. Speakers emphasized that true freedom begins with God's design. From the very beginning, the Lord created humanity with free will, entrusting each person with the ability to choose, to create, and to take responsibility for their lives.
The message also acknowledged that even in one of the world's freest nations, people can still live in bondage to fear, guilt, past mistakes, anxiety, and uncertainty. Genuine freedom begins in the human heart and is found through Jesus Christ. Unlike political liberty or favorable circumstances, the freedom Christ gives cannot be taken away because it is rooted in a relationship with Him.
A special time of prayer was dedicated to the United States, asking God to grant peace, wisdom, and His continued blessing upon the nation, its people, and its leaders. Those gathered also prayed that Americans would cherish the gift of freedom and use it to serve others with love, compassion, and lives that honor God.
The evening concluded with warm Independence Day greetings and an invitation to join the church for Sunday worship. May God's peace, wisdom, and blessing rest upon every home, and may the true freedom which is in Christ fill hearts with hope and lasting peace.
